For many years people have patiently waited for ToME3 to be released,
for many years I have tried.
But I always burned out of developing it too fast.
It was a pile of old crappy code I could not stand working on anymore…
Until now…
Surprise! DarkGod has risen…. and has announced his new creation!
T-Engine 4 is a complete, from-scratch, LUA-based remake of the T-Engine 3, and comes with the full ToME 4 module, for your enjoyment!
The engine has started its long road to stability, but things look nifty, and I’m sure it will rise high with the support of the ToME community.

Oh please, please develop this!! The beta is very promising. I’ve been playing T.o.M.E. for many years. Go DarkGOD.

I will 🙂
A new beta should be out soonish with many UI improvments and hopefully a template/example module for future module makers.

Darkgod, you ROCK.

I like it so far, only played it for a half hour or so — still getting used to the new interface. I could use a music toggle.
Also, when I switch resolutions, sometimes all my gfx disappears and I get nothing but white blocks, but only in the floor spaces….the walls still show.
I eagerly await future evolutions of this game, because this is the best evolution of ‘banding I’ve yet seen. (since T.o.M.E.)

Is this really ToME? I only played it a few time, but it seems like there are commands completely missing, or at least not documented on the help screen. Does that screen only show commands relevant to your current environment? I’ve been confused by ToME since I first played it, so I appreciate any replies.
